What the numbers mean
Timing, formulas and limits
Assessment customers = eligible accounts × adoption × scenario demand, capped at eligible accounts. Customers arrive evenly over the acquisition period. Implementations follow your conversion rate and delay; managed customers follow a second conversion rate and delay. Fractional customers are expected values, not literal bookings.
Revenue = assessment fees + implementation fees + monthly managed-service fees. Gross contribution = revenue − direct delivery costs. Net benefit = gross contribution − fixed practice costs − one-time investment. Return on modeled costs = net benefit ÷ all modeled costs × 100; it is undefined when costs are zero.
Quick mode estimates direct costs as a percentage of revenue. Detailed mode uses delivery hours × loaded hourly cost, plus software per active managed customer. The detailed capacity check flags excess hours; it does not automatically defer work or reduce sales.
Payback is the first month cumulative modeled net benefit covers startup investment and stays nonnegative through the selected horizon. With no startup investment, payback is not applicable. Fees are recognized and collected when work occurs; managed services bill for a full month at the start of service. No churn, renewals, taxes, financing, payment delays or terminal value are modeled. Late cohorts may convert after the forecast ends and are excluded.
Include all relevant costs once. Labor is an economic delivery cost even if payroll would stay unchanged; net benefit is not automatically incremental cash savings. Software and additional usage costs depend on the account and scope. Check current OpenAI plans and usage ↗.
Conservative and upside vary demand only; they are sensitivities, not risk forecasts. Change fees, labor, timing and costs to test other assumptions. Validate demand and delivery effort in a pilot.
